This project, along with the Richmond Civil War Visitor Center, is part of a major tourist development effort for the Richmond riverfront corridor. It includes a Floor Wall Gallery of historical images on monumental banners, bronze medallions in canal walk paving, installations of bronze sculptural elements and plazas, outdoor interpretive signage, and a brochure/map of the area. The Canal Walk interpretation is a broad, inclusive commemoration of over 400 years of Richmond's history, covering heroes, disasters, and achievements, in the context of a beautiful restoration/revitalization of Richmond's historic canal system.
