This core exhibition on 4,000 years of Jewish identity and culture covers two floors of the renovated Jewish Museum building and displays over 1,500 objects. These include manuscripts, paintings, ethnographic materials, and archival footage. Also included are a re-creation of an ancient synagogue, a room evoking the sounds and rituals of the Sabbath, and a display of original Torah arks representing diverse Jewish communities worldwide.
